The MSS Supermodifieds returned to Midvale Speedway from it’s inaugural season and did not disappoint fans as they craved for more. Thirteen supermodifieds made the trip to the 3/10th’s mile oval while 11 started the feature. (55) Rich Reid & (36) JJ Henes would pace the field, as Reid took a commanding lead at the start. With four laps into the feature, (59) Austin Berg driving for Bobby Watkins pulled into the infield, meanwhile, points leader (11e) Kyle Edwards found a way around (36) JJ Henes for 3rd position and (19) Trent Stephens in 2nd. 10 laps in, caution flag for (55) Rich Reid as he was sent to the tail for break-out time, Stephens inherited the lead, with Edwards, Henes, (64) Jim Paller & (22) Mike McVetta as the top 5. Two laps later, Paller muscled by Henes for the 3rd position but would cause the 2nd caution as Paller had spun coming out of turn 2. At the restart, it was Edwards right on Stephens tail, with Henes, McVetta & (88) A.J. Lesiecki as the top 5. As McVetta found his way around Henes from a slight mistake of going too high into turn 3 & 4. Edwards with several attempts diving on the low side desperately trying to find an opportunity but Stephens was stellar not giving him a chance. Stephens led the remaining 20 of the 30-lap feature parking the (19) Acme Racing owned supermodified.

Track Notes: From the get-go, it was a challenging heated day for the teams, as both McVetta & Lesiecki teams had to thrash on their cars after mishaps during hot laps. (88) Lesiecki, who is 3rd in series points, eager to get his car back on the track. Both teams were able to make the feature race. The (OZ) car of Cord Ehrhart and (92) Larry Lehnert both suffered problems that shortened their day and could not start the feature race. Bobby Watkins had Austin Berg substitute in his 59 machine. And (38) JD Evans with a fuel leak early on.
